The Caribbean Premier League (CPL), one of the premier leagues in world cricket, has carved out its own place in the cricket universe. The CPL has become the epitome of the T20 format with top-notch performances, first-class players, and high-class teams participating.
Cricket is a team sport, but still, individual brilliance will not be overshadowed particularly in the CPL where players have performed exceptionally on a few occasions. Thus, the article will dive into the highest individual scores recorded in Caribbean Premier League history.
Highest Individual Score in The History of CPL
5. 119* By Alex Hales Vs St Lucia Kings, Guyana, 2023
The fifth-highest score in the Caribbean Premier League was made by the English hard hitter Alex Hales. In 2023, while playing for the Jamaica Tallawahs, Hales scored 119 not out off 57 balls against the St Lucia Kings at Providence Stadium, Guyana. The Tallawahs batted first and scored 201 runs after losing five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Hales hit 12 fours and 7 sixes at a strike rate of 208.77, giving his team an above-par total of 119*. The Saint Lucians were restricted to 79 runs due to the brilliant performance of Hales and the exceptional bowling of Chris Green who took four wickets. As a result, the Jamaican team won the match by a huge margin of 122 runs.
4. 120 By Colin Munro & Faf du Plessis Vs St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Basseterre, 2025 & 2021
The duo of Colin Munro and Faf du Plessis contributed the joint fourth-highest score in the history of CPL. In 2018, during the game between Trinbago Knight Riders and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Munro scored a blistering 120 runs off just 57 balls. His innings of 120 runs came as an opener, where he took only 57 balls with an amazing strike rate of 210.52, hitting six delightful sixes and 14 fours, eventually raising TKR’s total to 231 for 5 by the end of the 20 overs. With this bowling of fireworks, Mably Boys could be defended by a margin of 12 runs only, as the Patriots managed to score 219 runs but could not get over the final hurdle.
Other scorer of 120 in CPL is Faf du Plessis who scored an incredible 120 not out in just 60 balls while captaining the St Lucia Kings in 2021, during the same venue, Basseterre, against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. The St Lucia team opted to bat first and posted 224 with the help of captain du Plessis’ magnificent knock of 120* off 60 balls with a strike rate of 200 where he hit 13 boundaries and five maximums taking St Lucia to a score that was more than the par total. The St Kitts and Nevis team in response could not get nearer and lost the match by a huge margin of 100 runs which was a big win for the St Lucia team as they bowled out the opposition for only 124.
3. 121* By Andre Russell Vs Trinbago Knight Riders, Port of Spain, 2018
The bat of big-hitting Andre Russell produced the third-highest score in the CPL. It was in 2018 when the Jamaica Tallawahs took on the Trinbago Knight Riders at Port of Spain. First to bat were the Knight Riders who set an intimidating target by scoring a whopping 223 runs for 6 wickets in their allocated 20 overs; this was indeed a daunting task to accomplish, as chasing 224 is never easy at any ground against any team.
However, the Tallawahs side had other ideas, as captain Andre Russell delivered the inning of his career, hitting a magnificent 121 not out off just 49 balls which included 6 fours and a remarkable 13 sixes, all scored at a strike rate of 246.93. The Jamaican team was able to run down the target in 19.3 overs losing only 6 wickets in the process; thus, the victory was quite easy in fact, by 4 wickets and with 3 balls remaining. The winning of this match has made Russell’s inning a legend’s cut.
2. 125* By Tim Seifert Vs Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, Gros Islet, 2025*
The player, who marked the second-highest score in the CPL, came in the recent showdown between the St Lucia Kings and the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, which was held at Gros Islet in Antigua—the 18th match of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2025 season. The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons took the initiative with their batting and racked up a formidable total of 204 runs, losing four wickets.
The Kings’ side opened the winnings’ door with the chase, which was consummated in 17.5 overs and with six wickets in hand, all because of the opener Tim Seifert, who exhibited real class and power besides accuracy, using merely 53 balls for his 125 not out with nine sixes, ten boundaries at a strike rate of 235.84, thus leading the Kings’ side to victory. The Kiwi batsman did not get out, as he was not even playing a false stroke during his 53-ball stay at the crease.
1. 132* By Brandon King Vs Barbados Tridents, Guyana, 2019
In 2019, the record of the highest individual score in CPL history was set during the first qualifier between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and Barbados Tridents at Providence Stadium, Guyana. The Warriors, batting first, mounted a huge total of 218 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, of which opener Brandon King was the main contributor with his magnificent 132 not out off 72 balls with 10 fours and an astounding 11 sixes at a striking rate of 183.33, thus pushing the team of Guyana to a number that always seemed to be a mountain.
Eventually, the Guyana Amazon Warriors won the match quite easily as the Barbados Tridents managed to score only 188 for 8 at the end of their 20 overs, thus the Warriors secured their spot in the final of the tournament. Hats off to King, as this match will always be remembered for Brandon’s remarkable performance in a difficult knockout match.
