After the no-handshake issue between India and Pakistan at the Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday, the two teams were at the same venue again on Tuesday.
The Pakistan team without saying if they will continue in the Asia Cup showed up at the ICC Academy in Dubai for practice. Their next game is against UAE on Wednesday. The Indian team led by Suryakumar Yadav was also practicing there.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) hasn’t said anything official about their plans for the rest of the event. They complained to the ICC about match referee Andy Pycroft being removed since he was part of the no-handshake situation during the India game.

Pakistan also cancelled their pre-match press conference being stubborn about Pycroft’s removal. Word is that the PCB and ICC have come to some agreement but the board sent their players to practice before the ICC agreed to their requests.
When the Pakistan team reached the ICC Academy in Dubai their practice time overlapped with India’s. Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir were still there with over an hour of training left.
The Pakistan team stayed away from the Indian side even though both were practicing at the same location. Pakistan’s head coach Mike Hesson watched the team’s net practice trying to get them ready for their big game against UAE.
If Pakistan wins against UAE in Dubai they will play India again on Sunday in a Super 4s match. India won by 7 wickets last Sunday was the first game between the two teams since India’s Operation Sindoor.
