As India gets ready to face England in the third Test at Lord’s, batting coach Sitanshu Kotak spoke about the pitch. Kotak said the Lord’s pitch looks green so it will help the bowlers.
India comes into the third Test on a high after their 336-run win at Edgbaston. Shubman Gill scored 269 and 161. Akash Deep took 10 wickets in the match and Siraj 7 wickets across both innings.
India and England will play at Lord’s Cricket Ground. Kotak said the pitch looks green and will help the bowlers. Speaking to the media he said, The pitch is very green. We will have a better idea after the grass is cut tomorrow. Expect the bowlers to get some help. The batters’ mindset will be most important. Our batters are skilled and scoring well without having to do too much. I won’t take credit for their runs; it’s all them. This wicket will be tough but we aren’t overthinking it.”
Even with the bowler-friendly pitch at Lord’s Kotak feels the Indian batters are ready. He thinks their mindset will be key to performing well in these conditions.
India and England are ready for a cracker at Lord’s with the pitch already a talking point. Recent pics show a very green surface so it will favor the bowlers.
