India women just exhibited a mighty run during the Sri Lankan ODI tri-series, and intending to continue further, BCCI has confirmed full-strength squads for the upcoming white-ball tour of England. They will play 5 T20s and 3 ODIs, with the first T20 scheduled for 28 June. Harmanpreet Kaur is chosen to captain both teams, while Smriti Mandhana is her deputy.
There are not many changes because the stuff is still recovering from injuries. Both were from the RCB camp in the WPL and thus missed the tri-series, so the selectors decided to give a few new players a chance while they were away.
Among the ODI squad, Kashavee Gautam has been dropped while Shafali Verma is still left out, with Pratika Rawal holding her place at the top order. Sneh Rana is included in both squads after her good showing in Sri Lanka. Sree Charani, Shuchi Upadhyay, Kranti Goud and Amanjot Kaur retain their places in the ODI team.
Shafali Verma will join Smriti Mandhana for the T20 series, while Richa Ghosh and Yastika Bhatia will share wicketkeeping duties across both squads. The five India T20 matches will begin in Nottingham, while three ODIs on July 16 in Southampton, concluding on July 22 in Chester-le-Street.
