England have named the same eleven for the second Test against India at Edgbaston. Jofra Archer was expected to return to the squad but had to leave due to a family emergency and will have to wait a bit longer.
Archer recently bowled 18 overs for Sussex in a County game and many thought he would replace Josh Tongue in the team. Now Tongue gets another chance to prove himself when England play India in the second Test starting July 2.
England won the first game by 5 wickets thanks to a great chase at Headingley. Most of the batters scored well and with two of them scoring centuries, they don’t have much to worry about the batting.
Zak Crawley, Joe Root and Harry Brook scored fifties in the first game. Ben Stokes didn’t do well with the bat and the England management will want more from their lower middle order.
The bowling unit will be under the microscope as they didn’t look very effective for most of the first Test. Chris Woakes who usually does well at home took only one wicket and Shoaib Malik the spinner gave away a lot of runs.

The Edgbaston pitch is expected to help the spinners more. So England will be looking for more from their off-spinner who will get help from the new bowling consultant Moeen Ali. They have a good lead in the series and one more win will put them in a great position to win the series.
