A central member of the Delhi Capitals team, KL Rahul, lately opened on having named his daughter Evaarah after coming across the name and looking up its meaning online. He confessed that his wife, actress Athiya Shetty, needed some convincing before agreeing to it. They had a milestone last month when they shared the first picture of their baby girl on Rahul’s birthday. In March, Athiya had announced the arrival of the baby girl on Instagram with a heartfelt message.
“I just stumbled upon the name. We looked at a few name books from friends, and then I googled Evaarah to see what it meant. I loved it right away. It took some time to convince Athiya, but both our parents liked it, and eventually, she warmed up to it,” gave Rahul as an explanation.

Athiya and Rahul’s nuptials took place on January 23, 2023, in an intimate ceremony at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse at Khandala. Suniel went on to mention gaining grandfather status on LinkedIn, saying, “Becoming a grandfather is a feeling I can’t describe. It is pure happiness that nothing in the world can change.”
From a sporting view, Rahul has had a great season for Delhi in the IPL with 371 runs in 9 matches. However, in a recent fixture versus Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he managed only 41 off 39 balls, and in the prior match with Kolkata Knight Riders, he was run out cheaply for seven. He looks set to stand up against formidable bowlers like Pat Cummins, Mohammed Shami, and Harshal Patel whenever the opportunity arises. The Delhi Capitals will take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 5.
