Matt Henry from New Zealand won’t be playing in the rest of the T20I series against Pakistan. He’s still working on getting his shoulder better after getting hurt during the Champions Trophy in 2025. He hurt it while trying to catch a ball in the semifinal against South Africa, but managed to bowl a couple of overs after that. Even though he was named in the squad for the last two matches, New Zealand Cricket has said he won’t be playing.
In his place, Zak Foulkes will be part of the team for the last two games. Will O’Rourke, who was originally set to play the first three matches, will also stay on for the final two since Kyle Jamieson won’t be available.
Right now, New Zealand is ahead in the five-match series, 2-1. Pakistan made a great comeback in the third match, setting a world record for chasing down 200 runs the fastest in T20Is, knocking off New Zealand’s 205 in just 16 overs with nine wickets to spare.
Hasan Nawaz was the standout performer for Pakistan, scoring the fastest century ever by a Pakistani in T20Is off just 44 balls, breaking Babar Azam’s previous record. He finished with 105 not out off 45 balls, while captain Salman Ali Agha added 51 runs.
Earlier, Mark Chapman scored 94 runs for New Zealand, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.
