Former England captain Michael Vaughan has called India’s top bowler Jasprit Bumrah “the best bowler I’ve ever seen” on the BBC 5 Live Sports podcast. He praised his skill in all forms, including Test, ODI and T20. He also mentioned that Bumrah’s captaincy during India’s 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia was one of the best he has seen.
On the podcast, Vaughan said, “Jasprit Bumrah is the best bowler I’ve ever seen. He’s incredible in all formats. Some of his spells in Australia were amazing, and the way he led India in Perth was just fantastic. He really took charge not just with his bowling but also as a captain.”

Bumrah was in top form in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, taking 32 wickets in 9 innings with an average of 13.06. Vaughan also mentioned the fascinating contest between Bumrah and England’s main batsman Joe Root. He said in Root’s career, he hasn’t faced many bowlers who have troubled him as much as Bumrah has.
