Smriti Mandhana is still the one who conquers the batting of Team India Women in the year 2025. The experienced batswoman not only became the first women’s batter in ODI to surpass the 1,000 runs milestone in a single year but also the leading six-hitter in a period of 12 months. The accomplishment of the latter was during her outstanding century against New Zealand at the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup.

5. Chamari Athapaththu – 21 sixes in 2023
Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu smashed a total of 21 sixes over the entire year of 2023 which constituted almost a third of her runs. The iconic all-rounder played a mere eight ODI innings throughout the year and scored 415 runs with an amazing batting average of 69.16. The six-hitting extravaganza of Athapaththu in 2023 also kept her batting strike rate at an incredible 125.37, which was the highest in her ODIs so far, and, besides, it was much more than her career ODI strike rate of 75.31.

4. Chloe Tryon – 21 sixes in 2017
The South African all-round Chole Tryon has smashed a total of 73 sixes in her ODI career starting from October 2011 when she made her debut in the 50-over format. Stunningly, Tryon managed to claim 21 of her sixes in just one year, and that was during her great run of 2017. In 16 ODI innings over 20 games for South Africa Women, the then 23-year-old hit 35 fours and 21 sixes and scored 415 runs with a strike rate of 115.27. Tryon also scored three half-centuries during this time including the one at the 2017 Women’s ICC Cricket World Cup in England.
3. Deandra Dottin – 21 sixes in 2013
The West Indies all-rounder Deandra Dottin, who was a big hitter, scored a total of 21 sixes in the 21 ODI matches she played over the whole year of 2013. She also hit 49 fours and the combined 70 boundaries made for the entire 12-month period. Dottin’s run production for the West Indies was fabulous that year, and she had 463 runs at the end of the 19 innings with the striking rate of 83.87. Celebrating her best year in ODIs concerning the number of sixes, Deandra Dottin’s next best was in 2011 when she scored 13 sixes in 12 innings.
2. Lizelle Lee – 28 sixes in 2017
The former South African cricketer Lizelle Lee could be described as an outstanding batswoman during the year 2017. Having 70 sixes in Women’s ODIs throughout her ten-year career, Lee used 28 of them in 2017 from just 21 innings, 12 being at the 2017 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in England. Overall, she made 717 runs from only 21 innings with an average of 35.85 and an astonishing batting strike rate of 116.01, which included five centuries. The year before, Lizelle Lee had also hit 14 sixes, and she amassed 55 ODI maximums over the three years from 2016 to 2018 with 13 the following year.
1. Smriti Mandhana – 31 sixes in 2025
The Indian opener Smriti Mandhana has struck 31 sixes in the ongoing calendar year 2025 in just 20 innings. The batter went past Lizelle Lee’s 2017 Women’s ODIs score of 28 sixes by hitting four sixes during her terrific 100 runs against New Zealand Women at the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup in Navi Mumbai. Mandhana’s 2025 tally of ODI sixes accounts for almost half of her career ODI maximums (73).
