MI might release some players who didn’t play well or weren’t needed before 2026 IPL. Releasing these players will free up spots for new players and create a better team balance:
Robin Minz: Minz didn’t do well with his batting. He scored 6 runs in 2 innings with an average of 3 and a strike rate of 40. Because of this poor performance, MI might release him before 2026.

Karn Sharma: The leg-spinner took 7 wickets in 5 matches with an average of 18.28 and an economy of 8.53. But, at 37 (and turning 38 before the next season), his age and fielding limitations might count against him.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman: Mujeeb played only one game and took 1 wicket, while his economy was 14. MI might release him to make room for another overseas player.
Reece Topley: Topley played one match but didn’t take any wickets and gave up runs too easily, with an economy of 13.33. His bad showing in a game that mattered could cost him his spot.
