Reports suggest that Narayan Jagadeesan is likely to replace Rishabh Pant for the fifth Test against England. Pant got hurt on Day 1 and after scans it was confirmed that he has a toe fracture.
Pant will be out for six weeks and will miss the fifth Test starting July 31. There were talks of recalling Ishan Kishan for the last Test but Kishan is also recovering from a leg injury after a scooter fall.
Cricbuzz says that Jagadeesan, 29, is all but confirmed for the fifth Test and will soon fly to England to join the team.

Despite the fracture Rishabh Pant showed courage and batted after Shardul Thakur was out. Pant took medicine and injections to help him bat. BCCI tweeted that Rishabh won’t be keeping wickets for the rest of the fourth Test but might bat if needed.
In the current match India is 321/6 and lunch was taken early due to rain at the time of writing.
Who is Narayan Jagadeesan?
The 29-year-old is from Tamil Nadu. The right-handed batsman might get his first India call up. He has played 52 First-Class matches and scored 3,373 runs. Jagadeesan has also played for Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL.
Jagadeesan scored 674 runs in 13 innings in the Ranji Trophy with an average of 56.17. He scored 2 hundreds that season.
