New Zealand and South Africa are ready for a great thriller on the seventh match of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 to be played on October 6th at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. Starting at 3:00 PM IST, the stage is set for a very critical encounter, as both sides look for an opportunity to bounce back after a defeat in their respective opening matches. With momentum still up for grabs, this match might very well decide the course of the rest of their campaigns.
New Zealand started their campaign on a hard note against Australia. Having won the toss, they elected to bowl first and had the defending champions in deep waters at 128/5, before Ashleigh Gardner stopped the rot with her career-best 115 to take Australia to 327. Though Sophie Devine fought valiantly with 112 (112), supported by fighting knocks by Amelia Kerr (33 off 56), and Izzy Gaze (28 off 18), the White Ferns could only manage 237 and went down by 89 runs.

But South Africa certainly did not have a start to remember against England. Their batting order collapsed to a mere 69 runs, with Sinalo Jafta (22 off 36) the only batsman to get into double figures. The bowlers had so little to defend that England just strolled to a 10-wicket win. The Proteas would be desperate to get themselves back to form in Indore.
