The BCCI announced the Bangladesh tour in September 2026. Announcement made on X.
The tour was in doubt due to the situation in Bangladesh. News said the boards were thinking of postponing the series.
BCCI released a statement this afternoon that the tour will happen in September 2025. They will share the dates later.
India was to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is against Bangladesh. The matches were to be played at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka and Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.
Dhaka was to host the first two ODIs and the last two T20Is. Chattogram was to host the other two games, one ODI and one T20I. All matches were to be played between August 17th and 31st after the England Tests.
What’s Next for India?
With the Bangladesh tour delayed, the focus now turns to:
1. Asia Cup 2025 (T20Is)
Asia Cup 2025 is expected to start on September 5 and end on September 21 though the dates aren’t confirmed. The matches will be played in the UAE instead of India since both India and Pakistan want neutral venues for their matches.
India will play T20Is in early September, possibly against Pakistan twice which always draws attention.

2. Australia Tour (ODIs & T20Is)
For fans who want to see Kohli and Rohit play, India will tour Australia for 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is starting October 19, 2025. Since the Bangladesh tour isn’t happening, this will be India’s first ODI series since the Champions Trophy and it will be important for preparing for future ICC events.
After the Australia tour, India will host South Africa from November to December for 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is, a series that has all formats.
