Once and for all: Phil Salt will play the IPL 2025 final against Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday, June 3. Salt returned this very morning to Ahmedabad after going back home for the birth of his child, says ESPN. There were many questions about his arrival being in time, considering he missed the last practice session. Some speculated possibly not even playing. Yet he landed in Ahmedabad at 3 a.m. and is confirmed to be in the playing XI.
For the RCB, this is a really big thing because Salt is one of the star players this season. He has scored 387 runs at a strike rate of 175.9, making him one of the most feared batsmen in this tournament. Salt and Kohli have been dangerous partners, amassing 664 runs at an average of 47.42 in the fastest start RCB has ever had.
In the flipside, RCB will probably miss out on Tim David, who is still on the downside of recovery from a hamstring injury. He had sustained the injury while fielding against Sunrisers Hyderabad and thus missed out on the playoff versus Punjab.
It will be RCB’s fourth IPL final appearance. They reached the final before but have never won the title. With Salt back and firing, the team hopes to be able to pull that one off this time. Fans from all across the country will keep their eyes glued on RCB.
