Sai Kishore, the left-arm spinner, is set to play county cricket. He has signed up with Surrey for two Division One County Championship matches.
The 28-year-old is expected to be available around end of July, according to ESPNcricinfo. His first game might be in Scarborough, against his former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) teammate Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is playing for Yorkshire. Sai Kishore’s second and last game is against Durham at Chester-le-Street from July 29 to August 1.
I am really excited to join Surrey for the next two County Championship matches, Sai Kishore said, as reported by ESPNcricinfo. Surrey is a very good club and I have heard great things about them from many people.
Alec Stewart, Surrey’s high-performance advisor, said, I’m pleased to bring Sai Kishore into our squad for the next two games. People I trust in Indian cricket have spoken well of him. His record for Tamil Nadu is very good and he brings experience to the team, as mentioned in ESPNcricinfo.
Sai Kishore has been playing mostly T20 cricket lately. In the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), he was a successful spinner, taking 19 wickets in 15 games for Gujarat Titans (GT) with an economy rate of 9.24. He also led his team to their first Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) title recently.
Though known for his white-ball skills, Sai Kishore has a good red-ball record. He has 192 wickets in 46 first-class matches at an average of 23.51 and an economy rate of 2.76. In the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy, he was the top wicket-taker with 53 wickets in nine games as Tamil Nadu reached the semi-finals.
This time with Surrey will give Sai Kishore a chance to remind the selectors of his skills and get ready for the next domestic season.
