Rajat Patidar, the Central Zone captain and RCB player, just smashed a century off 80 balls against North East Zone. Couldn’t have come at a better time as he’s trying to cement his place in the Indian team for the West Indies series.
After a year where he had great IPL 2025 stats. As a captain for Royal Challengers Bangalore to their first-ever IPL title, Patidar is now showing his skills in Indian domestic cricket.
He’s playing for Central Zone in the Duleep Trophy, starting with the first quarter-final match. The two semi-finals are from September 4th-10th and the final on September 11th.
RCB captain Rajat Patidar smashed an 80-ball century in the first innings of the first match against North East Zone on August 28th. He’s been absent since leading Bengaluru to an IPL title in June. In 14 games he scored 312 runs with an average of 24 and a strike rate of 143.77.

With this performance he’s hoping to book his spot in the Indian team. He missed out earlier due to some low scores but it looks like the added pressure of being a captain has made him a better player.
Rajat Patidar hit 21 fours and 3 sixes in his century, his 14th in first-class cricket. He finished with 125 runs off 96 balls. Vidarbha’s Danish Malewar supported him well, scoring a double century in the same innings.
Dhruv Jurel was picked to lead Central Zone after impressing with the Indian team in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. He played as India’s reserve wicket-keeper in the Lord’s and Manchester Tests and later made it to the playing XI for the final Test as a replacement for Rishabh Pant.
But Jurel was ruled out due to a groin injury he picked up during practice before the quarter-final match against North East Zone.
Along with Rajat Patidar and Dhruv Jurel . Star Indian pacers Khaleel Ahmed, Deepak Chahar and spinner Kuldeep Yadav are also part of the Central Zone team for the Duleep Trophy.Kuldeep Yadav is also in the Indian Asia Cup team as he’s the main spinner along with Varun Chakravarthy. Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh are in the Asia Cup and playing for North Zone.
