Royal Challengers Bangalore has still been seeking its first trophy even after 18 seasons of IPL existence. The team finds itself in the finals after a long-wait of 9 years, and so there is a lot of excitement surrounding the occasion. However, the honor of hoisting the IPL trophy still eludes Virat Kohli after an illustrious career. RCB captain Rajat Patidar speaks about the team’s motivation to win it finally.
When was a young player, Virat Kohli joined RCB and grew into a true legend. For the past 13 years, ever since he had taken over as captain in 2011, he has put the team in places rarely seen before, but that IPL trophy has somehow eluded him.
This year, under Rajat Patidar’s leadership, the team has made its way to the final after almost a decade. Hours before the final, thrill is just too much to hold! He said the team was looking to win for Kohli. “We want to do this for him. He’s done so much for India and RCB over the years,”
Once more, it will be an important match for RCB and PBKS to face one another in. After a split group stage with one win a piece, RCB then defeated Shreyas Iyer’s side emphatically by 8 wickets in Qualifier 1.
With the June 3 final in sight, both teams are set to snatch up the first-ever IPL title. Rajat Patidar said it was a “fun twist” to be facing Shreyas again in the final but emphasized how fresh the task is. “It’s nice to meet him again in the final, but we’re ready for whatever comes,” he said.
