Chinnaswamy Stadium is now unable to host matches after a stampede happened. Royal Challengers Bengaluru is facing huge backlash after 11 fans died in the tragedy. These fans had gathered to watch the team’s IPL 2025 victory parade near the stadium. Many more were injured.
To help the families who lost their loved ones, RCB has launched RCB CARES. The team says this is a long term promise to take action, starting by honoring those who died. The families of those who died in the stampede will get INR 25 lakh each as compensation.
RCB posted on their Instagram on Saturday, August 30th:
We lost 11 members of the RCB family. They were part of us. Part of what makes our city, our community & our team unique. Their absence will be felt by each one of us.

No amount of support can ever fill the space they’ve left behind. But as a first step, and with the deepest respect, RCB has given 25 lakh each to their families. Not just as financial aid but as a promise of compassion, unity and ongoing care.
What Happened at the Chinnaswamy Stampede?
On June 4th, RCB announced a big victory parade in Bengaluru to celebrate their first IPL title with their fans. Apparently there were security issues and not enough police. But RCB, the event organizers (DNA), and the Karnataka State Cricket Association went ahead with the event. This led to a huge crowd gathering around Queens Road and Cubbon Road, near the stadium.
The situation got out of control and turned into a stampede. People were suffocating and the pushing and shoving led to a terrible situation. 11 people died due to lack of security and planning.
Women’s World Cup 2025: Bengaluru Games Moved
Since the stampede, Chinnaswamy Stadium can’t host any matches. KSCA had to shift Maharaja Trophy 2025 matches to Mysuru as they couldn’t get government clearance. Now the stadium has also lost the chance to host Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 games.
