According to the ICC website, Rishabh Pant has achieved his career best rating in the latest ICC Men’s Test Rankings. This after he scored two centuries in the first Test against England.
The 27-year-old scored 134 and 118 as India lost by 5 wickets. He moved up one place to 6th in the Test batting rankings.
This is one place below his career best ranking of 5 in 2022. Pant has 801 rating points, his highest ever. He is now just 88 points behind Joe Root, the top ranked batter.
Root remains at the top with scores of 28 and 53 not out in the Headingley Test. His teammate Harry Brook is second, 15 points behind.
Ben Duckett also reached a career best rating, moving to 8th after his match winning 149 in the 2nd innings of the Leeds Test. There were other changes in the top 20 after two other Test matches around the world.
Australia beat West Indies by 159 runs in the first Test in Barbados. Travis Head moved up 3 places to 10th in the Test batting rankings after two half-centuries.
Sri Lanka won big against Bangladesh in Colombo. Pathum Nissanka rose 14 places to 17th in the Test batting rankings after his 158.

Kusal Mendis moved up 4 places to 30th. South African youngster Lhuan-dre Pretorius entered the batter rankings at 68th after his century against Zimbabwe.
Jasprit Bumrah is still the top ranked Test bowler after his 5 wickets in the Headingley Test. Josh Hazlewood moved up 1 place to 4th.
Jayden Seales also moved up 1 place to 9th. Prabath Jayasuriya moved up 1 place to tie 14th after his 5 wickets in the 2nd innings against Bangladesh.
Ravindra Jadeja remains the top ranked Test all-rounder even after an average performance against England. Two South Africans were rewarded for their performance against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo.
Wiaan Mulder moved up 7 places to tie 15th after his century against Zimbabwe. Corbin Bosch jumped 42 places to 19th after his own century in the same match.
