Favourite innings of him of his career
He played many memorable innings in his career. Two of his most notable innings were against Australia in Sharjah in 1998 (Desert Storm) and 98 against Pakistan in the 2003 World Cup. But Tendulkar has another favourite.
In a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, a fan asked Tendulkar to name his favourite innings. He didn’t choose either of the above ODI innings. Instead he chose his 103 against England in the 4th innings of the 2008 Chennai Test. He said, There are many, but the most meaningful was against England in Chennai in 2008.

In that match India needed 387 to win. Tendulkar scored 103 from 196 balls and helped India chase the target. The match was special for India as it was after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
Another big moment in Tendulkar’s career was the 2011 ODI World Cup final against Sri Lanka at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. India under MS Dhoni chased down 274 in 48.2 overs with 6 wickets to spare. Gautam Gambhir scored 97 from 122 balls and Dhoni remained unbeaten on 91 from 79 balls.
Reason to promote Dhoni
In a surprise move, Dhoni came out to bat ahead of Yuvraj Singh who was in great form throughout the tournament. Dhoni’s decision to promote himself has been a topic of discussion for years. While Dhoni has said it was his own decision, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has said it was Tendulkar’s idea.In the Reddit AMA session a fan asked Tendulkar why he promoted Dhoni over Yuvraj. Tendulkar said, There were 2 reasons. Left right batting combination would have upset the 2 off spinners, also Muralitharan had played for CSK (2008-2010) and MS had played him for 3 seasons in the nets.
Dhoni’s decision proved to be a game changer as he formed a partnership of 109 runs with Gambhir for the 4th wicket and helped India recover from 114 for 3. After Gambhir’s dismissal, Dhoni added 54 runs with Yuvraj who scored 21 from 24 balls. Dhoni was declared Man of the Match for his brilliant performance, 91* from 79 balls.
