Sahibzada Farhan, Pakistan’s opener, made history in T20 cricket. The 28-year-old right-hander is now 4th Pakistani to score 1500 T20 runs in a year, joining Babar Azam and other big players.
Farhan achieved this feat in his 35th match of 2025, after playing well for Pakistan, Peshawar Region and Islamabad United, scoring in every series and league.
His big moment came in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four match against Sri Lanka. He scored 24 off 15, 2 fours and 1 six, which helped Pakistan in their 134 chase.
With that Sahibzada Farhan went past 1500 T20 runs in a year, 4th Pakistani to do it. Before him Babar Azam did it three times (2019, 2021, 2024), Mohammad Rizwan twice (2021, 2022) and Shan Masood once (2022).
Though Farhan reached a personal milestone, his innings against India in the Super Four match wasn’t enough to get Pakistan the win. He scored 58 off 45, 5 fours and 3 sixes but his strike rate of 128.89 wasn’t great.
His slow innings meant Pakistan could only score 171/5. India chased it down with 7 balls to spare, winning by 6 wickets.
Pakistan Avoid Super Four Loss
Even after losing to India for the second time in the tournament, Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 5 wickets and kept their Asia Cup 2025 hopes alive.
Bowlers did well, restricted Sri Lanka to 133 in the first innings. In the chase Hussain Talat (32) and Mohammad Nawaz (38) played important innings and Pakistan won by 5 wickets with 2 overs remaining.
