Asia Cup 2025 will be a hybrid event with UAE as the main host. ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi made the announcement on July 26 in Dhaka.
Pakistan has suffered a blow as Shadab Khan, their white ball vice captain, will likely miss the Asia Cup due to a recurring shoulder injury.
According to a PCB source, Shadab has been having shoulder issues for some time. The medical staff has advised him to have surgery. He will go to London for the surgery and will be out for three months.
Shadab is a regular player in Pakistan’s limited overs setup and recently played in the home series against Bangladesh which Pakistan won 3-0. He also missed the white ball series in Bangladesh due to his shoulder problem. He will be out for the Asia Cup 2025.
A source told NDTV, If the Asia Cup is in September, he will miss it.
This 26 year old all rounder has played 6 Tests, 70 ODIs and 112 T20Is.

Asia Cup 2025 is going to be exciting. India vs Pakistan on September 14 is the most awaited game. If both teams do well, they might play each other three times: in the group stage, Super 4s and final.
Asia Cup started in 1983 and is held every two years to find the best team in Asia. 2025 will be the 17th edition. Eight teams will be in two groups. Top two teams from each group will go to Super 4s and then the final on September 28.
