The West Indies are preparing for a two-Test series against India but will have to do it without one of their key players. Fast bowler Shamar Joseph who has been in good form recently is out with an injury. The team will assess Joseph’s situation to see if he will be available for the limited-overs series against Bangladesh later this year
Johann Layne will replace Joseph in the squad as they head to India for the series.
The West Indies arrived in India on Wednesday and will start training this Saturday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. They will prepare for the first Test which starts on October 2nd.

This is a big series for the West Indies as it’s their second in the new ICC World Test Championship cycle. Their first was the home series against Australia in June and July 2025. Roston Chase will captain the team.
