In keeping with that, the former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar said that the Royal Challengers Bengaluru are doing pretty fine in their batting and fielding this season and that he believes they might just win their trophy of the years of difficulty. Gavaskar, in an interview with India Today, said he was confident of Bengaluru in overall strength and how well they have performed on the road. They currently sit second in the league with seven wins out of ten matches so far played and six of these wins coming at away games, which shows that they could also handle pressure.
Gavaskar said,” Royal Challengers Bengaluru have batted well, and fielded really well too. Mumbai Indians are picking up pace and are beginning to climb. The question now is if they will manage to keep that pace with good teams coming ahead.” He added that how Mumbai manages to keep their momentum would be crucial but sees RCB as the favorites for the overall title.
Interestingly, all of Bengaluru’s three losses came while playing at home, which would play a role when things move towards the end of the league. RCB has brought a much stronger team-building environment this torch, moving away from relying heavily on names such as Virat Kohli.
They are on course for play-offs and the Chennai Super Kings would like to have that win against RCB to boost the spirits. This match in Bengaluru is also great because fans would get to see the two biggest names of cricket, Kohli and MS Dhoni, again battling it out in the field.
