The Asian Cup just ended and Suryakumar Yadav, who is the captain of the Indian side, has announced that he will donate his entire match fee for the event to the families of the armed forces and terror victims of Pahalgam.
On Sunday night, India won the trophy by defeating Pakistan compatriots by five wickets.
“I have decided to donate my match fees from this tournament to support our Armed Forces and the families of the victims who suffered from the Pahalgam terror attack. You always remain in my thoughts. Jai Hind,” posted the 35-year-old after India clinched the well-fought victory.

Players in the Indian team would get Rs 4 lakh per match for T20s. Given that the continental show had 7 games, a total stipend of Rs 28 lakh would be going to Yadav for donation.
For the entire duration of the event, the Indian party held fast to its refusal to indulge in any niceties with the Pakistani side, defeating Salman Agha’s men thrice consecutively on Sundays.
Suryakumar had snubbed Pakistan on most occasions during the tournament.
He paid tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam attack and Indian forces after defeating the archrivals in the group stage on September 14. Pakistan, so incensed, accused Suryakumar of “making political statements” and called for a ban of the player in its complaint to the ICC.
Thereafter, the world body had instructed Suryakumar not to make any statement that could be construed as political and also fined him 30 percent of his match fee for that particular day.
The BCCI has moved the ICC tribunal to challenge the fine once he pleaded not guilty last week during the ICC hearing.
