Just when all seemed to be going against the New Zealand side in the first T20I, coming back after a horrendous collapse was really the job of Tim Robinson at number 3. The ball would shoot through with pace enough, and wickets fell early, with the Australian bowlers claiming a total of three to shake the Australian home.
This was when Robinson stood tall, smashing the Australian bowlers to the open corners of the Bay Oval. With precise timing and power, he took the Kiwis out of a precarious situation to make their team stronger in the unfolding first T20I, winning attention for his whirlwind 106 off 66 balls.

Who is Tim Robinson, The new star of New Zealand?
Robinson has had an interesting journey so far; he was a javelin thrower before turning professional in the cricketing field. The 23-year-old, a hard-hitting aggressive batter, first grabbed limelight in the 2023-24 Super Smash season, scoring 298 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 187.42.
The Kiwi selectors had evidently noticed his skills, and less than four months after his Super Smash eye-opener, he was selected in the senior T20I squad for the away series against Pakistan. The debut was a nightmare as he was dismissed for a duck by Shaheen Afridi, but the batter left it behind and scored a brilliant hundred that put the Kiwis in a commanding position against the Australians.
