IPL 2026, although still far away, the franchises are already planning their strategies and they are looking for a season that will be quite exciting. The Lucknow Super Giants, who wish to have a powerful season, made a great move by getting one of the Australian legends on board.
Tom Moody, the all-rounder from Australia, has taken over the role of Global Director of cricket in place of Zaheer Khan. The franchise has confirmed this news by posting it on their social media platform.
Super Giants welcome Tom Moody
Since the launch of Lucknow Super Giants in IPL, they have not yet got hold of the IPL crown. Even the big changes that were made last year did not bring any luck to them. Instead of being cautious, they bravely marched on with a dream of a distinctive season.
Last season, Lucknow Super Giants signed Zaheer Khan as Global Director of Cricket but let him go in September 2025. Fast forward to the next season; veteran Australian all-rounder Tom Moody is replacing the Indian pacer in the role.
The Aussie legend alongside LSG will be responsible for all the other franchises of the T20 leagues all around the world for Super Giants. The news of hiring has turned out to be a great boost for the season just before the upcoming season.

The Lucknow Super Giants made the announcement on their social media accounts, which got the fans all excited. By posting the picture of Moody, they said, “Experience. Vision. Leadership. Welcome aboard the Super Giants Universe, Tom Moody!”
Moody comes with the whole load of knowledge to light the Super Giants’ ambition
Tom Moody those days has been the king of the cricket world with his skills and talents in both batting and bowling but his coaching career is nothing less than a fairy tale. He was the one who directed the Sri Lanka team to the final of the 2007 ICC World Cup. He has also partnered with CPL and BBL. However, among all his accomplishments, Tom Moody’s golden era with Sunrisers Hyderabad is the one that will be remembered most.
He was the mastermind behind their incredible 2016 IPL victory and skillfully took them to playoffs every other year after that. Then he became SRH’s Director of Cricket. While he is in the middle of an exciting new adventure, his presence at LSG is going to be a huge advantage.
