On Sunday, the Indian cricket team kept the ball rolling in the 2025 Champions Trophy by defeating bitter rivals Pakistan in an emphatic 6-wicket victory. At the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, India chased down a target of 241 runs in 42.3 overs, losing just four wickets. Virat Kohli stood out in an Indian victory honchoed by Rohit Sharma, pursuing an undefeated 100 runs of 111 balls.
The result of the match clearly disappointed Pakistani fans. Former cricketers from Pakistan seemed dejected with the loss. Ex-Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik seemingly expressed his feelings by singing a song.
In a video shared by legendary Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Malik serenaded the Dil Ke Arman Ansuon Men Bah Gaye track from the movie Nikaah. The video begins with Akhtar asking Malik, “Aaj k match ke barein me kya kehenge (What do you have to say about today’s match)?”

Akhtar appeared crestfallen and heartbroken after Pakistan lost the match against their old rival, India.
“I will not even talk about Pakistan cricket if I weren’t getting paid. Honestly! I have nothing to do with them. I was invited here (on this show), so I came. I am stating it with all honesty and live on television. I have no agenda to criticize them (players); why should I waste my time?” Akhtar said in a video that went viral on social media.
“I have been doing TV (interviews and panel discussions) ever since 2011. Trust me; I have said it all,” he added.
In a must-win Champions Trophy match against India, Pakistan captain Muhammad Rizwan won the toss and put his team in to bat first. The decision backfired, with Pakistan managing to score a total of 241 runs. Saud Shakeel managed to strike 62 runs off 76 balls for the defending champions, while Rizwan could only scratch 46 runs off a total of 77 balls.
