The most prominent women’s T20 competition is preparing for a second season. The Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2025 will take place in Australia during November and December 2025. The teams and players are all set to bring their heat to the Australian summer.
So, what is the starting date and location of the WBBL 2025?
The WBBL’s 11th season will begin on November 9, 2025. The opening match will be a thrilling one between Brisbane Heat, the home team, and last year’s champion Melbourne Renegades at 12:40 PM local time (8:10 AM IST).
Along with the first match, the first day will also have two more matches, which is a treat for the audience. In the second match, Hobart Hurricanes will clash with Sydney Thunder. And in the night-time match, the Perth Scorchers will be up against the Sydney Sixers.
How many teams will be there?
The WBBL|11 will feature a total of eight teams. The other two squads are the Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Stars.

Okay, what is the format of the WBBL 2025 like?
As a result, every WBBL team plays ten matches during the league stage. In these matches, they will play the same three opponents twice and the remaining four teams once.
Once the league stage is over, the top four teams in the points table will go up to the finals series, which, unlike the BBL one, is a best-of-three series.
The team that finishes first will go directly to the final, while the second-placed team will take part in the Challenger. The remaining two teams will face each other in a knockout to determine who goes to the Challenger, which will then decide the other finalist.

November 9 to December 7, 2025 is the duration of the league stage. 40 matches will take place in the league stage.
The knockout will be on December 9, and the 3-match finals series will then start. The challenger on December 11, and the final on December 13 are the dates for these two events.
