Andre Russell is an all-rounder from the West Indies who has performed two games back-to-back in two different leagues across two different countries.
The Kolkata Knight Riders star represented two franchises, the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and the Rangpur Riders, separated by barely a full day.
Russell played for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders against the Dubai Capitals in the ILT20 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, then took a taxi to Dhaka to represent the Rangpur Riders against the Khulna Tigers at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh Premier League 2025 (BPL) Eliminator.
Russell’s performances in both games were of similar intensity, irrespective of the changing time zones and geography.
In the ILT20 game, Russell was out for a golden duck by Dushmantha Chameera; then he managed only four runs off nine balls before being dismissed by Mohammad Nawaz in the BPL. The two matches give ample evidence of how challenging it could be, physically, for players to execute such a schedule.
Apart from Andre Russell Dasun Shanaka also played two games one after the other, a first-class game and a T20 game.
On February 3, the all-rounder turned out for the Sinhalese Sports Club against Moors Club in Colombo.
On the last day, Shanaka resumed batting at an overnight score of 39 and blasted a brilliant 123 runs off 87 balls in which he hit 10 fours and 8 sixes, but the match ended in a draw.
Just after the match, Shanaka boarded a flight to Dubai from Colombo to participate in the ILT20.
Playing for Dubai Capitals against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Shanaka scored 34 runs off 12 balls, hitting four fours and two sixes.
