Wiaan Mulder made history in Bulawayo with a fantastic triple-century against Zimbabwe in the second Test. He beat Hashim Amla’s record of 311 and now has the highest individual score for a South African batsman in Test cricket.
He scored his 300 in 297 balls, the second-fastest triple century in Test cricket. And he now has the highest score for a South African captain, beating Graeme Smith’s record. He is only the second South African to score a triple hundred in the game’s longest format.
Wiaan Mulder came in to bat at 3 after South Africa lost Tony de Zorzi early on Day 1. They soon lost the other opener but Mulder showed his mettle in his first match as captain and made a good partnership with Bedingham for the third wicket.

After Bedingham left, he had another good partnership with Kuhn-dre Pretorius.
