After another good batting performance against England in the second Test, Yashasvi Jaiswal spoke about the Birmingham pitch. Jaiswal along with captain Shubman Gill who scored a century helped India to a good score. Jaiswal said the seam movement and bounce at Birmingham was less than Leeds.
Gill’s second century in his second match as captain and Jaiswal’s 87 was the main contribution as India ended the day with over 300 runs and just 5 wickets down.
In the post day press conference Jaiswal said: I feel there’s a difference between Leeds and here. The seam movement was more there and the bounce was more here, it’s less here. The environment is different so we need to adjust.
Looking back at the day’s play Jaiswal felt the team got a good score and said about the plans for day 2: We will try to bat as long as possible. Both the batsmen are doing well and I hope it continues.
