Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo will travel to Iran for his team’s AFC Champions League 2024-25 Round of 16 match. Three teams from Saudi Arabia will travel to their neighbouring country, Iran. The West Group of the tournament has been dominated by five teams such as Al Nassr, Al Hilal, Al Ahli, Al Saad, and Al Wasl. Al Hilal is the last team to win the title back in 2021.
Talking about the Hilal, they are topping the West Group with seven wins in eight games. Ronaldo’s Al Nassr won five games and placed three in the points table. Former Real Madrid and Manchester United star Ronaldo scored six goals in the league stage.

Cristiano Ronaldo has never won an Asian title
The 40-year-old has never won an Asian title, having made his Saudi Pro League debut in the 2022-23 season. The Portugal international has won five UEFA Champions League titles. Colombian striker Jhon Duran has joined Ronaldo’s team although the former was given the red card last week. The decision angered Ronaldo so much that he booted the ball into the stands before continuing to remonstrate with the officials.
Coach Stefano Pioli will need his players to keep their heads against Esteghlal, who Al Nassr beat 1-0 in the league stage thanks to a late goal from former Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte. “We must try to improve every day as we have not yet reached the level where we can compare ourselves with the first level of world football,” Pioli said.
