Arun Jaitley Stadium is the second-oldest cricket venue in India. Once known as the Firoz Shah Kotla Stadium, it’s Delhi Capitals (DC) primary home venue in the IPL.
The fans refer to the venue as ‘Qila Kotla’, but DC haven’t quite been able to establish it as their unconquerable fort. The franchise thus far has had a rollercoaster ride here.
On that note, we’ll look at the IPL records and stats at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

In over 91 IPL matches hosted in Delhi, the surface has been balanced for batters and bowlers. Although batters find it easy to score runs here, bowlers aren’t too far behind either.
Spinners have sort of favourable conditions thanks to the dry nature of the pitch. But shorter boundaries mean batters clear them with brute force.
There’s not much gap between teams winning after batting first or batting second. But chasing might be easier here as dew comes into the picture in evening fixtures.
In recent years, the venue has seen more flat tracks and shorter boundaries, which makes for high-scoring games in the IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) proved it when they smashed 266 against Delhi in 2024.
