Early Debut in IPL Career
Rashid Khan made his IPL debut on April 5, 2017. His first match was against Royal Challengers Bangalore (now Bengaluru) while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Rashid’s debut was decent, as he took two wickets in four overs, though he was slightly expensive, leaking 36 runs. Overall, Rashid had an excellent season with Hyderabad, picking up 17 wickets in 14 matches at an economy of 6.62.

Rashid Khan Performance in IPL 2024
For the first time, Rashid Khan didn’t deliver a noteworthy performance in his eight IPL seasons. His 2024 campaign was underwhelming, taking 10 wickets in 12 matches, with his average going above 23 for the first time. Rashid averaged 36.70 with the ball.

Rashid Khan’s last appearance in the IPL 2024 came on May 10, 2024. He played in the match against Chennai Super Kings, which saw Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan score centuries apiece.

Rashid Khan IPL Auction Price & History:
After his exploits at the international level for Afghanistan, Rashid Khan landed his first IPL gig in 2017. Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Rashid in the 2017 auction for INR 4 crore.
The next season, the franchise retained him at INR 9 crore, and he stayed with them until 2021. Ahead of the 2022 season, Rashid Khan joined Gujarat Titans as a marquee player at INR 15 crore and helped the new team win the IPL trophy.
After the three-season cycle, Gujarat increased Rashid’s pay to INR 18 crore while making him their first retention for IPL 2025.
