The Asia Cup 2025 is going to be a lot of fun with the best teams from the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) participating. It’s the 17th time they’re doing this and it’s a big window for teams to prepare for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
The games will be in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and will be T20I. Expect some good intense games between Asia’s top cricket playing countries.
Cricket is getting bigger and the Asia Cup is a great platform for both new and old players to come out and show what they have on a big stage. Since it’s in T20 format fans should be ready for lively games, close finishes and moments that will stick.
There are 8 teams that will play in the Asia Cup, 5 of which are full members of the ACC: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. We also have Hong Kong and Oman. UAE is joining them too after they won the 2024 ACC Men’s Premier Cup.
These 8 teams will be divided into 2 groups for the first stage and then move into a Super Four stage. After that the top 2 teams will play the Asia Cup 2025 final.
In each group teams will play each other once. Top 2 from each group will move into the Super Four stage where top 2 will play to win the trophy.
Asia Cup 2025 group stage games will be played over 2 weeks in September and Super Four matches will be played right after. This way there will be enough competitive games and enough time to prepare for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
During the tournament they will use a points table to keep track of the teams. They will award points for wins and ties. If teams have same points they will look at the Net Run Rate (NRR) to decide who’s on top. The table will show which teams will move into the Super Four stage and who will make it to the final game.
