Gautam Gambhir has replaced Rahul Dravid as the next head coach of the Indian cricket team. He has brought some of his KKR colleagues with him as assistant coaches. Former Indian cricketer Abhishek Nayar, who is associated with Kolkata Knight Riders, and former Dutch all-rounder Ryan ten Doeschate have officially joined the team as assistant coaches.
Meanwhile, T. Dilip, who worked with Dravid as fielding coach, will also work with Gautam Gambhir with the same responsibilities. It has left one coaching role to fill, which is for the bowling department. Gambhir has referred the name of former South African pacer Morne Morkel to BCCI for this role, and his name has been confirmed. Morkel played with Gambhir in the KKR while he was in the coaching staff when Gambhir was with Lucknow Super Giants.

As per the new Reports India has got its new Bowling Coach. Morne Morkel is the new bowling coach for India. Morkel is a former South African fast Bowler who has also worked with the present Indian coach Gautam Gambhir and it seems that BCCI has taken Gambhir’s recommendation seriously and have appointed the cricketer as new bowling coach for India.
However, there is no official announcement from the BCCI about the bowling coach. But Cricbuzz reported that the news is confirmed from BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

The report said Morkel’s contract is set to begin on September 1, which means his first assignment with Team India will be the home Test against Bangladesh that starts from September 19.

Morne Morkel is the former South African fast bowler who had played a remarkable career. he had represented his country in total of 86 Tests, 117 ODIs and 44 T20Is, where he has claimed a total of 309, 188, and 47 wickets, respectively.
Morne Morkel is one of those big, tall fast bowlers who can intimidate batsmen with pace and bounce. His journey in international cricket began with his Test debut against India in December 2006 and concluded with his final appearance in a Test match against Australia in March 2018. Morkel’s vast experience and expertise will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to India’s bowling unit. Morkel career has been impressive where he distinguished himself from his bowling prowess and style.
Morkel has not only done bowling but he has also worked as a bowling coach prior. He shares a small stint working as a bowling coach where he did a great job working with the Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah in the lead-up to the 2023 ODI World Cup, but later he left the job as Pakistan unable to perform and did a poor show at 50-over world tournament in India. With him joining the Men In Blue, India is all set with its team to bring on their A Class game to the cricket fans.
