Jos Buttler played his debut match in the IPL on April 9, 2016. He represented Mumbai Indians against Rising Pune Supergiants in the season opener.
It was a disappointing debut outing for Buttler, as he bagged a two-ball duck while batting at No. 4. But he had a decent season, scoring quick knocks in the middle order. Buttler amassed 255 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 138.58.

Jos Buttler experienced a mixed season in IPL 2024. Even though he scored 359 runs in 11 innings, 207 of them came in two innings thanks to his two hundreds. In most of the other innings, Buttler struggled to get big runs under the belt.

Jos Buttler played his last match in the IPL on May 12, 2024. He featured in the league stage match against Chennai Super Kings before he left for England.

Jos Buttler IPL Earnings and Auction History
Jos Buttler started his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians (MI). The franchise snapped up the keeper-batter for INR 3.80 crore in the 2016 auction.
After playing two seasons with MI, Buttler moved to Rajasthan Royals in 2018 for INR 4.40 crore. His consistent performances in the next four seasons meant he received a pay hike.
