Early Debut in IPL Career
Raza’s stature in T20 cricket has been on the rise in this decade, where he has displayed his top-notch all-round skills. Riding on those promising outings, he became one of the few Zimbabwean players to make a debut in the IPL.
Raza’s IPL debut came for Punjab Kings (PBKS) against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2023 season. He had a mixed outing in his first match. He first scored 16 off 13 at No. 5, including a four and six each, and then took a wicket while conceding 25 runs in three overs.
With underwhelming performances in the next two games, Raza scored his maiden fifty against Lucknow Super Giants, which helped PBKS win the match.
In all, Raza accumulated 139 runs and picked up three wickets in seven matches in his debut IPL season.

Performance in IPL 2024
Sikandar Raza got scattered opportunities for PBKS in the 2024 season, making only two appearances. Unfortunately, he couldn’t put on noteworthy performances in any of these two matches.
Raza managed only 43 runs in two outings, while he bowled in only one innings, leaking 22 runs in two overs. His stay was also cut short, as he then left the season midway to resume his international duties with Zimbabwe in May 2024.

Raza’s last match in IPL 2024 came against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 9, 2024, in Mullanpur. He scored 28 runs off 22 balls while chasing a target of 183 runs, which Punjab failed to chase by two runs.
