Notably, according to a report in The Indian Express, there will be no Right to Match (RTM) option available this time.
The last Mega Auction was back in the 2022 IPL season when the two new franchises were introduced- Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants.

For the Mega Auction, retention works in two ways – one announcing the retained player’s name and second through an RTM card.
Any player who is not retained by the franchise has to go through the Mega Auction. However, the current franchise does have a chance to retain some players if their final bid matches their previous season’s bid.
Suppose, Rishabh Pant wasn’t retained by the Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2025 Mega auction then he has to go under the hammer. In that situation, Chennai Super Kings bid 16 crore which was Pant’s previous auction price. Then DC has the right to match card CSK of INR 16 Crore and can retain their current captain for the same price.
