After wrapping up the SMAT 2024, the BCCI will organise the Vijay Hazare Trophy in December 2024 and January 2025. The 50-over domestic tournament will start on December 21, 2024.
A total of 38 state teams will feature in the tournament, with 135 matches scheduled over a month. Twenty venues across the country will stage the matches, with Vadodara hosting the knockout round.
The 38 teams have been clubbed into five groups, with the first three having eight teams each and the next two having seven each. Teams will play matches in seven rounds before the knockouts begin on January 9, 2025.
The ten best teams from the league stage – the top five sides and the next five sides – will advance to the knockout stage. The final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 will take place on January 18, 2025.
