The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 is currently in progress, being the main domestic 50-overs competition in India. This season, the Plate Group has drawn attention with teams vying to move up the ranks and into the knockout stages. This tournament gives aspiring domestic talent the opportunity to perform on the List A stage.
The Plate Group consists of a single group of 6 teams playing in a round-robin format. The two teams at the top of the table after the league stage proceed to the Plate Group final. Winning in this group is about something else: it is about gaining more experience to compete with the traditional big guns from the Elite Groups.
The tournament points system is straightforward. Teams are awarded:
- 4 points for a win
- 2 points each for no result/abandoned match
- 0 points for a loss
If multiple teams finish on equal points, Net Run Rate (NRR) decides their ranking.
