Mumbai Indians are surely harming at the IPL 2025. With six consecutive victories, including a gargantuan 100-run win against Rajasthan Royals on Thursday, they look secure sitting on top of the table. While other teams are still pondering how to stop them, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra is of the view that only one team stands in good chance of challenging them: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Referring to the performance to date on his YouTube channel, Chopra said, “Six wins, in a row, is something these guys are not going to stop. The big question is no longer if they will qualify but whether they can finish top two.” He indicated that RCB must be the team to watch out for.
However, MI will not face RCB again in the league stage. If they meet, it will be in the playoffs when things get tough. A deciding league game from here on will be against MI that can make RCB for the last or for the trophy, added Chopra.
Chopra also praised MI’s batting strength, especially the partnership at the top, which seems to be working now. Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton put up an undefeated 116 runs against RR. It seemed they could have scored even more.
Right now, MI is reaching the peak at the right time and sitting atop the IPL point table. Next, as Chopra said, the big thing on their minds is securing a top-two finish. And should any team have the ability to sustain that momentum, he’s going with RCB led by Rajat Patidar.
