In the latest ICC T20I rankings, Abhishek Sharma has made a record in history thanks to his explosive batting in the recently concluded Asia Cup. Abhishek had a tally of 314 runs in 7 matches at an average of nearly 45 and a strike rate of 200 to hold on to the number one spot in the shortest format and clinch the highest rating ever for a batter in T20Is.
Currently rated at 926 rating points, the 25-year-old Abhishek Sharma sits at the very top of the ICC T20I rankings for batters. He has surpassed England’s Dawid Malan, who has recorded the highest rating of 919 points (which had the previous highest). Interestingly, Abhishek had soared up to 931 rating points after his 61-run knock against Sri Lanka in the final Super Four encounter.
All is not well for him in the final against Pakistan, where he managed to score only five runs before becoming the first set of wickets to fall in the 147-run chase to Faheem Ashraf.

At the meager age of 25, Talwar broke Malan’s record that, after nearly two years, ceased to be glancing at 919 points, from 2020, after scoring 61 runs against Sri Lanka, Abhishek found some consolation by crossing the mark to end with an incredible 926 points, landing wildly ahead-Well, 82 points to be double specific-treatment ahead of Phil Salt of England in second. Furthermore, his nifty 75 against Bangladesh proved hitting him broke through.
More than 28 points were earned by Tilak Varma following unbeaten knocks of 49 against Sri Lanka and 69 against Pakistan while retaining third.
Kuldeep Yadav climbed nine places to 12th after his four-wicket haul in the final, while Jasprit Bumrah went up by 12 and is now placed 29th.
