On Tuesday, the Mumbai Indians had to bring in pacer Ashwani Kumar as a concussion substitute for Corbin Bosch after he got hit on the helmet during the last over of the first innings in Match 56 of the Indian Premier League at Wankhede Stadium. Bosch scored 27 runs off 22 balls, hitting one four and two sixes, but while trying to hit a fast ball from Prasidh Krishna, he took a hit to the head. He got some treatment from the physio but ended up getting run out on the next ball.
In a tough match against the Gujarat Titans, the Mumbai Indians fell apart, losing four wickets for just 26 runs after Will Jacks (53) and Suryakumar Yadav (35) had built a solid 71-run partnership for the third wicket. After Surya got out, things went downhill, and Mumbai was at 123/7 in the 17th over when Naman Dhir went out for seven runs.

Facing the risk of not even reaching 150 runs, Bosch stepped up in the 20th over, hitting two sixes in a row off Prasidh Krishna. But then, on the third ball, he got hit hard on his helmet, and during the break between innings, it was clear he might have suffered a concussion. So, the Mumbai Indians followed the rules and brought in Ashwani Kumar as his replacement.
