Pakistan has just won a 2-1 series against West Indies in T20 matches. They lost the second match by a narrow margin and then won the third match at Lauderhill by 13 runs.
Despite the series win, there are some concerns about individual performances. As the Asia Cup is approaching, there are talks about which players might lose their spots in the T20I team.
Top Replacements Pakistan Could Consider for Asia Cup 2025
1. Shaheen Afridi

Why Shaheen Afridi’s Spot Could Be at Risk for the Asia Cup:
Shaheen Afridi is known for getting the ball to move early and taking important wickets. But lately his T20I numbers haven’t been great, four wickets in six matches this year.
In the recent T20I series against West Indies, Shaheen got only two wickets and gave 58 runs in two matches.
Possible Replacements:
Pakistan has tried Salman Mirza and Ahmed Daniyal in T20Is against Bangladesh and they performed well, taking ten wickets together.
Since they have been more effective than Shaheen, either Salman or Daniyal can take his place in the Asia Cup squad. Mohammad Wasim Jr. is also fit again and it’s possible he can be the main bowler for Pakistan in the tournament instead of Shaheen.
2. Mohammad Haris

Why Mohammad Haris’s Spot Could Be at Risk for the Asia Cup:
Struggling to Find Consistency: Despite getting plenty of chances, Mohammad Haris hasn’t shown he can be a consistent T20I batter. He has scored 391 runs at an average of 18.6 which isn’t good enough for the shortest format.
Uncertainty About His Role: Mohammad Haris has been moved around in the batting order which means the team isn’t sure where he fits in.
Since Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub are providing quick starts more regularly, Pakistan might think about replacing Haris with a more reliable wicket-keeper batter for the Asia Cup 2025.

3. Khushdil Shah

Not Performing in T20Is: Khushdil Shah was recalled to the T20I team after a great BPL 2024-25 season where he scored 298 runs at 59.6 and a strike rate of 175.29. But in 2025 his T20I numbers have been very different. He has scored 75 runs at 12.5 and a strike rate of 83.33 this year.
Since he hasn’t been able to repeat his domestic success on the international stage, Khushdil might be dropped before the Asia Cup.
Not Impacting as an All-Rounder: Khushdil Shah is an all-rounder but he hasn’t really made an impact for Pakistan with either his bat or ball.
In 36 T20Is the veteran cricketer has 419 runs and six wickets, averaging 17.46 with the bat and 21.33 with the ball. Since khushdil Shah has not been able to perform on international stage of what is expected of him so it wouldn’t be any surprise if doesn’t find a place in Pakistan’s Asia Cup squad
