So the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) on May 22 announced the Under-19 tour squad for England scheduled between the 24th of June and 23rd of July 2025. The itinerary includes one 50-over formatted warm-up game, five one-day matches, and two longer-format games with England U19.
The CSK-man Mhatre will be at the helm, with the inclusion of young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi from RR in the squad. The prodigy Sooryavanshi was 14 years old just recently, was bought for Rs 1.1 crore in the 2025 mega auction, and made in the news last month for being the youngest player to play in the tournament: everyone watching him go thunderously after the heralding of his first-ball six.
Mhatre and Sooryavanshi are the only IPL players contesting against England in this series. The 17-year-old Mumbai-based wicket-keeper/batter Abhigyan Kundu will be supporting Mhatre as vice-captain, while 18-year-old Harvansh Singh from Saurashtra will be the other wicketkeeper.
Subjecting them to a practice game first, the first one-day will follow at Hove on June 27. Northampton will host the next two one-days on June 30 and July 2, while the last two will be held at Worcester on July 5 and July 7. The first multi-day match will be held in Beckenham starting July 12, while the second will commence in Chelmsford on July 20.
