The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the team for the 5th Test against India.
Ben Stokes is out with a shoulder injury so Ollie Pope will captain the team at Kennington Oval. Jofra Archer, Brydon Carse and Liam Dawson are also out. Jacob Bethell, Gus Atkinson, Jamie Overton and Josh Tongue will join the team.
The England Men’s team will have four changes to their XI for the Rothesay 5th Test against India at the Kia Oval starting on Thursday. Ben Stokes is out with a right shoulder injury, Liam Dawson, Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse will also miss out. Jacob Bethell will bat at 6, and Surrey bowlers Gus Atkinson and Jamie Overton will join the team along with Nottinghamshire’s Josh Tongue according to England cricket.
Stokes absence will be felt as he has been in good form with both bat and ball, 304 runs in 4 matches and a hundred in the Manchester Test. He has also taken 17 wickets and is the top bowler in the series. With Dawson out Bethell will be the main spinner.

Atkinson is replacing Archer having recovered from injury concerns. He last played for England in the Test against Zimbabwe earlier this year. Tongue is back in the team after playing the first two matches of the series.
