Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the young explosive batsman is one of the 6 standby players. The other standby players are Mukhtar Hussain, Aasirwad Swain, Swastik Samal, Sudip Gharami and Rahul Singh.
Ishan was not offered a BCCI central contract after he pulled out of multiple red ball matches. He has got back into form because of his performance in the domestic season last year. Duleep Trophy is an opportunity for him to showcase his skills in red ball and push for a spot in India’s Test team. Shami will also play competitive cricket if he plays in East Zone’s first match. East Zone will face a strong North Zone team in the first quarterfinal of Duleep Trophy.
