Trent Boult is New Zealand’s star fast bowler and is known for breaking batting lineups. He has bowled some magic spells in all formats. With his swing, rhythm and ability to get early wickets, Boult is a nightmare for any batting order. Here are five of his best performances.
1. Trent Boult 4-13 vs Sri Lanka, T20 World Cup 2022
In October 2022, during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia, Trent Boult took his career best T20I figures of 4-13 against Sri Lanka at the SCG. While defending a target of 168, he took two wickets in his opening over, removing opener Kusal Mendis and number three Dhananjaya de Silva for a duck. Boult also removed Charith Asalanka during the powerplay, leaving Sri Lanka at 8-4. He gave away only 13 runs in his four overs as New Zealand won by 65 runs.
2.Trent Boult 6-32 vs England, Auckland Test 2018
In the first Test against England in Auckland in March 2018, Trent Boult destroyed the English batting lineup with a six-wicket haul. In a single spell of 10.4 overs, Boult took six wickets, including Alastair Cook, Joe Root and Ben Stokes, while giving away only 32 runs. England were all out for 58 in 20.4 overs in their first innings. Boult took three more wickets in the second innings, finishing with 9-99 as New Zealand won by an innings and 49 runs.
3. Trent Boult 6-30 vs Sri Lanka, Christchurch Test 2018
In December 2018, against Sri Lanka in Christchurch, Trent Boult took his second six-wicket haul of the year, with figures of 6-30 from 15 overs. After Sri Lanka reached 4-94, Boult cleaned up the middle and lower order in just four overs as the visitors were all out for 104. Four of those wickets were LBWs, showing his accuracy. He took three more in the second innings as New Zealand won by 423 runs. This remains his best Test performance to date.
4.Trent Boult 6-33 vs Australia, Hamilton ODI 2017In the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy match in February 2017 in Hamilton, Trent Boult was the star while defending 282. He shared the new ball with Tim Southee and removed Peter Handscomb for a duck before cleaning up the lower order to take his first ODI six-wicket haul. He finished with 6-33 in 10 overs as New Zealand won by 24 runs.

5.. Trent Boult 7-34 vs West Indies, Christchurch ODI 2017
Trent Boult took his only 7 wicket haul in international cricket in December 2017 against West Indies in the 2nd ODI in Christchurch. After New Zealand scored 325-7 from 50 overs, Boult got each of the top 4 West Indies batsmen in the first 10 overs and then returned to clean up the tail with a 3 wicket burst.
The great bowler finished his 10 overs with 3 maidens, 34 runs and 7 wickets to take the ‘Player of the Match’ award as the ‘Black Caps’ won by 204 runs.
